The whole car is in great shape, but the leaf spring hangers front and rear have been grossly modified. Comments: Good site you've got here. Gotta love them old Chevys!!! I have built and owned nothing but Chevys. The first, a 56 pick-up, still got it, love the style. The second was a 40 coupe, it's got a new family now. The latest is a 55 1st series panel delivery that's getting all 93 Corvette drivetrain. Maybe you can help me with this one. The panel body is a deluxe and has stainless steel fender trim. There are 14 pieces total, 3 strips behind each wheel well and spears over each of the front wheel wells. This was a bit of a rare option which is making it difficult to acquire the pieces that I'm missing. They are the three strips behind the "right front" wheel well. If there is anyone in your club that knows of these trim pieces and can offer any suggestions as to where I might find them, I would be forever grateful. Thanks in advance for your help and once again,great site.

Comments: Here`s a story ivè just read in a local magazine called AMCAR in norway . ( it`s a magazine where the head people is still living in the 70ìes and they're onlly price their own and their buddies cars 200% over listprices , some norwegian friends mighht be familiar with my disgust .)well thats enough of that complain talk. The story i read was about a guy restoring a 55 olds. convertible and he painted his frame 3 times before he was convinced it looked like it did back in 55 . My question is: how can a guy at 26 ? tell how the accurate shade of the frame was back in 55 ? or for the matter how can anyone tell how the right shade was 42 years ago ? how intense snd how silly have we become during our search for the top price at the car show ? my adwice is as follows : keep your car from rusting underneath and concentrate on getting it straight along the body sides (not to many are ) and innally :use your cars thats what they were built for. keep up the good work and keep on using your old gear .

Comments: HI! i have a "butiful" chevy 57 2dh bel air with a 350 tpi/700 gear, and also i have taken all the elektric system from an 86 camaro with all the system`s working, such as cruse control, tilt-steearing, air-cond. and so on. it has also a front tilt system that with us of el-power moves the hood and fenders 8" forvard and then tilt`s it up. the color on the car is akvamarine GM USA. Comments: Nice web site!! Good pictures which get the oil pumping in my vains. I have a 56 Nomad, and a 56 2 door hard top. Wish there was a club just for 55, 56, & 57 in this area. Hey maybe you-all could consider an additional chapter out here. There is a number of such cars running around.
